Junior Service Technician
Purpose of the Role
The Junior Service & Support Technician provides technical and administrative support to senior technicians, engineers and sales consultants in delivering effective after-sales service. The role develops practical technical capability through supervised troubleshooting, site support, commissioning, warranty administration and continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
Technical and Field Support
1. Respond to customer technical queries and escalate complex issues to senior technicians or engineers
2. Accompany senior technicians on local site visits and assist with inspections, fault diagnosis and repairs
3. Assist with the commissioning and testing of new and upgraded energy systems under supervision
4. Support the troubleshooting of energy-system faults and document findings accurately
5. Assist with warranty claims and follow up on required technical information
Administration and Stakeholder Support
1. Support sales consultants with basic technical information relating to products and systems
2. Record technical issues, actions taken and resolutions on the company CRM
3. Maintain accurate service records and assist with preparing technical documentation
4. Participate in team meetings, supplier training and internal learning activities
5. Follow company procedures, safety requirements and instructions from senior staff
Qualifications and Experience
1. Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent
2. A basic electrical qualification or relevant technical diploma is advantageous
3. At least two years’ exposure to technical support, electrical work, renewable energy or backup-power systems
4. Valid driver’s licence, proven driving ability
5. Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems
