This role provides advanced technical and sales support to internal teams and clients. It plays a pivotal role in translating complex technical requirements into actionable proposals, assisting with solution design, and enhancing the effectiveness of the external sales team. The role is focused on engineering support, solution design, product development input, and high-impact pre-sales engagement, with a long-term trajectory toward product portfolio ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Solutioning & Support
- Engage directly with clients (in person, telephonically, or digitally) to gather detailed technical requirements and propose tailored solutions.
- Assist sales consultants with technically accurate quotes, system designs, proposals, and supporting documentation.
- Conduct product and solution demonstrations where required to support the sales process.
- Provide advanced product configuration and solution recommendations that align with customer needs.
Product & Portfolio Knowledge
- Develop deep product knowledge across Rubicon’s portfolio with a focus on high-specification applications.
- Support the development of product bundles and offerings in collaboration with Product Managers.
- Participate in internal product and technical training programs and contribute to knowledge sharing across the sales support team.
Sales Process Integration
- Collaborate closely with sales consultants to qualify leads, prepare quotes, and develop technical content for tenders and proposals.
- Track and manage follow-ups on key quotes and large-scale solution offerings.
- Identify opportunities for upselling or optimizing solutions during client engagements.
Customer Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build trusted technical advisor relationships with key accounts.
- Support the sales cycle by attending key client meetings to present or clarify technical details.
- Contribute to client onboarding and post-sale satisfaction through continued solution optimisation and follow-up.
Internal Collaboration & Reporting
- Liaise with operations, logistics, and finance to ensure smooth processing and fulfilment of technically complex orders.
- Maintain accurate records of client specifications, communications, and feedback using internal systems (e.g. HubSpot, NetSuite).
- Provide feedback to product and sales leadership on market trends, client needs, and potential new offerings.
Role Requirements:
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving ability in sustainable tech, electrical systems, or energy solutions.
- Previous experience in a sales engineering, solution support, or technical sales role is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical ideas for a non-technical audience.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and proposal tools.
- Ability to operate independently, while contributing to a cross-functional team environment.
