Regional Logistics Manager

The Logistics Manager is instrumental in facilitating a smooth and customer-focused order fulfilment process. This role encompasses the supervision and enhancement of warehouse operations and transportation management, aiming to ensure not only the effectiveness of internal processes but also an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities include adeptly managing the warehouse, coordinating with in-house fleet operations, and overseeing external transport partnerships to achieve timely and cost-efficient order fulfilment.

Receiving

  • Adhere to receiving procedures
  • Oversee and Coordinate stock arrival
  • Manage courier discrepancies
  • Accurate distribution of stock received
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with transport companies

Dispatch

  • Oversee and Coordinate dispatching of goods
  • Monitor transporting costs
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with transport companies

Stock Management

  • Create reports on stock movement
  • Oversee and Coordinate stock taking processes
  • Investigate and compile a report on stock discrepancies
  • Stock should be stored safely and securely
  • Identify and minimize financial risks

Staff Management

  • Manage, train and develop staff
  • Conduct performance appraisals and maintain discipline standards
  • Oversee management of customer complaints

Health & Safety

  • Coordinate health and safety regulations within the Warehouse

Role requirements are:

  • Relevant post Matric Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain or similar
  • 6-8 yrs experience in the following:
    • Stock Management
    • Inbound/Outbound Distribution
    • System Integration/Regional Management experience
    • Storage Management
    • People management experience gained within a warehouse environment

Key personal attributes:

  • Computer literacy – highly Computer literate and comfortable with basic technical aspects of common operating systems with Microsoft Office general excellence
  • Competent Professional business written and verbal communications skills. The ability to express yourself clearly and effectively within the company.
  • An ability to provide excellent customer service - Service focus by responding to Internal customers’ needs by doing it right the first time.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and follow-through skills. Disciplined Approach by being Punctual, Strong Attendance Record, getting back to customers, suppliers, and internal staff, and returning calls.
  • Attention to detail while maintaining the ability to see the implications for the bigger picture
  • An ability to respond quickly and accurately to requests
  • A creative outlook with a problem-solving attitude.
