Main responsibilities:
The WWF EPO (Senior) Policy Officer for Sustainable Agriculture & Food is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the WWF policy positions and/or strategies which aims at advocating for a sustainable agriculture and food policy in the EU. The person will guide and provide advice to the WWF EU agriculture and food group and will work closely together with other partners active in this field. The (Senior) Policy Officer will act as the main contact point on any issues related to agriculture and food for WWF EPO.
What you need:
Required Qualifications and skills:
- Experience in the field of land-use, agriculture, food, political science or related disciplines and ideally experience with agriculture and/or food policies at EU or national level;
- At least five years of experience of working on, and understanding the complexities of EU decision-making processes and/or EU political advocacy;
- Strong analytical, policy advocacy and communications skills;
- Proven ability to act as organizational spokesperson and interact effectively with government representatives; experience interacting with business would be a strong advantage;
- Show willingness to go outside of own comfort zone;
- Identify opportunities and risk in won field of expertise;
- Identifies with the values of WWF: Courage, Integrity, Respect & Collaboration.
WWF European Policy Office offers an open ended contract and a competitive package of pay and other benefits. The indicative salary range for this role is 3.700-3.900 € gross per month, with the final figure depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
WWF European Policy Office also offers a range of additional benefits, including allowances for lunch, public transport, flexible and hybrid working conditions, health insurance, pension plan, paid holiday and additional month of pay in accordance with Belgian law.
