1 MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT

  • To drive the right culture and working environment in WWF Network by ensuring embedding of our agreed network core values and standards;
  • To develop the right P&C standards, policies, procedures, systems and platforms in-order to attract, develop and retain the right people for the organization;
  • To create the optimal working environment in which the staff are able to perform at the highest level and hence are able to maximize their contribution towards the conservation goals.

2 MAJOR FUNCTIONS

Develops and implements the compensation and benefits frameworks and standards for WWF International , to attract, motivate and retain top talents. Leads the job evaluation process, salary reviews, benchmarking and market surveys in various markets for WWF International (Secretariat and Country Offices). Supports Executive Director, People & Culture and Chief Operating Officer, for salary reviews and pay philosophy decisions with the Finance & Investment Committee (FIC) of the International Board.

3 Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for, and ensures implementation for a comprehensive & integrated approach to compensation, benefits, rewards & recognition in WWF International working closely with Regional P&C Heads for all WWF International country offices;
  • Develops the right remuneration principles, philosophy and policies for C&B related topics like right positioning in the external market, trends, salary progression approaches related to performance etc.
  • Responsible for delivery of annual salary review in Secretariat;
  • Leads the external benchmarking work for the WWF International Secretariat and Country Offices;
  • Supports and works with the relevant P&C leads (Global, Regional, National) to manage accurate salary survey, and provide recommendations on salary scales;
  • Subject matter expert on all compensation related enquiries. Offering advice beyond pay review on markets overview, best practices etc;
  • Works closely with relevant P&C Heads in managing adhoc salary and grading related requests;
  • Coordinates periodic benefits survey for offices when and where necessary;
  • Develops and maintain close working relationships with other compensation, benefits and recognition peers both internally and externally to ensure best practice is shared;
  • Manages the relationship with external suppliers ( Mercer, Birches etc.) to ensure the most appropriate use of salary & benefits surveys is maintained;
  • Builds C&B capacity & awareness across WWF International Provides an advisory service to all staff members on compensation and benefits issues and trains other relevant P&C team members to address such issues;
  • Sets job evaluation standards and policies through Mercer IPE to ensure equity, consistency and compliance is maintained;
  • Subject Matter expert on IPE for all WWF International offices and accountable for Mercer win system;
  • Advices and supports on relocation specific cases and gives inputs on salary scales for that particular new location;
  • Understands HRIS and partners well with HRIS Manager and other P&C team members in systems and process improvements;
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director, Foundational Services.

4 PROFILE

Required Qualifications.

  • A professional Human Resources qualification or equivalent tertiary education;
  • At least 10 years’ experience of working in C&B role dealing with markets across the globe;
  • Good understanding and some experience handling international mobility from C&B perspective;
  • Experience working with HRIS systems;
  • Knowledge of International Reward practices and job evaluation techniques;
  • In-depth understanding of company strategy, operating environments and business objectives.

  • Strong analytical skills with methodical approach;
  • Absolute discretion and personal integrity;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and an aptitude for problem solving;
  • Excellent advisory skills and ability to promote team synergy in a multi-cultural work environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, discretion and impartiality) and influencing skills are essential for this position;
  • Strong team-player with ability to work in virtual teams in multicultural environment;
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities;

5 WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal.

Interacts frequently with WWF International staff and works closely with Regional & Country office P&Cs, and the Finance department staff with respect to the preparation of budgets. Liaises with all staff members on compensation and benefits issues.

External.

Interact with global market vendors and overseas specialists as and when required.
