MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works closely with the Senior Legal Counsel, Africa to provide timely and practical legal advice to WWF-International (the Secretariat and WWF-International’s managed country offices) seeking the most beneficial and cost-effective solutions, having regard to organisational and legal risk;
• Provides expert advice on various types of contracts drafting and – negotiation, including identifying and mitigating programmatic and operational legal risks;
• Responsible for the review and legal risk screening of contracts, project implementation agreements, consultancy agreements, Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) and various other types of agreements in alignment with internal policies and procedures;
• Advises on general legal issues including employment law, registration law, data protection;
• Supports Senior Legal Counsel, Africa on management of the litigation portfolio related to the WWF-International Managed Country Offices in Africa, with a focus on the offices in the Congo Basin Region;
• In consultation with the Senior Legal Counsel, Africa engages with external counsel on topical matters requiring external legal advice and/or for management of litigation;
• Drafts agreement templates, guidance notes, legal opinions and training materials;
• Conducts legal research and analysis of specific legal questions, at the request of the Senior Legal Counsel, Africa or the General Counsel;
• Assists the International Legal Team with any other general legal matters as required.

• Travaille en étroite collaboration avec le Conseiller juridique principal, Afrique, afin de fournir des conseils juridiques opportuns et pratiques à WWF-International (le Secrétariat et les bureaux nationaux gérés par WWF-International) et en recherchant les solutions les plus bénéfiques et les plus rentables, en tenant compte des risques organisationnels et juridiques ;
• Fournit des conseils d'expert sur divers types de rédaction de contrats et - de négociation, y compris l'identification et la mitigation des risques juridiques programmatiques et opérationnels ;
• Responsable de l'examen et de l'analyse des risques juridiques des contrats, des accords de mise en œuvre de projets, des accords de conseil, des protocoles d'accord (MOU) et de divers autres types d'accords en alignement avec les politiques et procédures internes ;
• Fournit des conseils sur les questions juridiques générales, y compris le droit du travail, le droit de l'enregistrement, la protection des données ;
• Appuie le Conseiller Juridique Principal, Afrique, sur la gestion du portefeuille de litiges liés aux bureaux nationaux gérés par le WWF-International en Afrique, en mettant l'accent sur les bureaux de la région du Bassin du Congo ;
• S’engage avec des conseillers externes sur des questions d'actualité nécessitant un avis juridique externe et/ou pour la gestion des litiges ceci en consultation avec le Conseiller juridique principal, Afrique.
• Rédige des modèles d'accords, des notes d'orientation, des avis juridiques et des supports de formation ;
• Effectue des recherches et des analyses sur des questions juridiques spécifiques, à la demande du Conseiller Juridique Principal pour l'Afrique ou Du conseiller Général ;
• Assiste l'équipe juridique internationale pour toute autre question juridique générale, le cas échéant.
