<h2>Job Description</h2> <p><strong>Position: Utilities Attendant – Vegetable Oil Extraction Plant</strong><br><strong>Department: Engineering &amp; Maintenance</strong><br><strong>Location: Bonje, Mombasa<br></strong><br> Are you experienced in plumbing, pipe fitting, and mechanical services related to fire systems, water supply and treatment, and drainage systems? We are currently seeking a <strong>Utilities Attendant </strong>to join our client’s Vegetable Oil Extraction Plant team. As a Utilities Attendant, you will be responsible for various plumbing and pipe fitting tasks, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our mechanical services.</p><p> <strong>Job Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul> <li>Perform pipe welding, bonding, and repairs, including high-pressure piping.</li> <li>Conduct pipe threading for various plumbing and pipe fitting requirements.</li> <li>Handle plumbing and pipe fitting tasks related to GI, PPR, PVC, aluminium, cast-iron, alloys, and stainless steel, among other materials.</li> <li>Operate and maintain utilities equipment such as water pumps, boilers, refrigeration systems, fire systems, compressed air systems, cooling towers, chillers, and water supply and treatment systems.</li> <li>Interpret engineering drawings and designs to execute plumbing and pipe fitting tasks accurately.</li> <li>Manage workshop processes including fabrication, precision fitting, machining, and pipe fitting.</li> <li>Operate CNC welding and cutting machines effectively.</li> <li>Perform surface preparation and coating of metals, including powder coating and zinc metalizing.</li> <li>Conduct heat treatment of metals as required.</li> <li>Plan and execute work tasks, including leading a team if necessary.</li> <li>Collaborate with the health and safety committee to identify risks and hazards, implementing safety recommendations and complying with safety requirements</li> </ul><p><strong>Job Qualifications &amp; Experience:</strong></p><ul> <li>Diploma in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Plumbing/Pipe Fitting from a reputable institution OR a final craft certificate with demonstrated experience.</li> <li>Over 5 years of continuous and detailed experience in plumbing and pipe fitting, working with materials such as GI, PPR, PVC, aluminium, cast-iron, alloys, and stainless steel.</li> <li>Familiarity with hot work permits, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and occupational health and safety procedures.</li> <li>Knowledge of fire safety procedures.</li> <li>Proficiency in using advanced plumbing tools and methodologies.</li> <li>Familiarity with various workshop processes</li> </ul><p><strong>Key Performance Indicators (Key Result Areas):</strong></p><ul> <li>Precision repair, fitting, and rebuilding of mechanical parts.</li> <li>Specialized welding, repair, and rebuilding of pipes.</li> <li>Precision in workshop processes and the usage and maintenance of workshop machines, including welding appliances.</li> <li>Accurate interpretation of engineering drawings and designs.</li> </ul><p>Join our team and contribute to the efficient operation and maintenance of our client’s Vegetable Oil Extraction Plant!
