- Serve as the focal point for engagement and cultivate an extensive network of LATAM agricultural commodity sector actors, spanning from cooperatives to traders, intermediaries, standards bodies, financial institutions, NGOs, and governments.
- Develop and execute commodity sector strategies at regional and local levels to foster awareness, consideration, and adoption of GFW Pro for monitoring and reporting on deforestation and land-use conversion.
- Leading GFW Pro presentations, trainings, onboardings, support and feedback collection
- Build stakeholder alignment and develop targeted partnerships to drive impact in line with GFW Pro and Forest Program priorities.
- Expand and deepen WRI engagement with regional and local sustainability decision makers, thought leaders, and influencers around our Protect, Produce, and Restore pillars.
- Coordinate and support organization and partnership-specific projects as relevant.
- Work collaboratively with the forest program from WRI Brazil to support development of strategies that align with GFW Pro and local demands.
- Facilitate processes that connect global initiatives and regional projects to promote more sustainable agricultural supply chains.
- Operate as a key stakeholder to accelerate processes that have dependencies on different programs.
- Identify opportunities for combining GFW’s suite of monitoring solutions – GFW, Forest Watcher, MapBuilder, Pasture monitoring, and GFW Pro - and contribute to their implementation as relevant
- Attend regional technical fora pertaining to the intersection of commodity supply chains and deforestation monitoring, engaging and building networks and/or partnerships with commodity sector stakeholders
- Identify, surface and test ideas with users – such as new analyses, datasets and functionalities - for improving GFW Pro. Support focused proof-of-concept projects as relevant
- Drive revenue growth via promotion of fee-based use of the GFW Pro platform
- Minimum of 7 years of work experience at the intersection of agricultural commodities and deforestation issues in Latin America. Prior experience working with and/or for the private sector agribusiness is preferred
- Master's degree in agricultural sciences, environmental sciences, environmental management or another relevant field
- Demonstrated knowledge of agricultural supply chains combined with understanding of sustainability frameworks that promote and accelerate systematic changes towards a more sustainable and just society and economy
- Demonstrated engagement and partner management skills with the ability to scale-up existing partnerships and form new partnerships. Client-focused and delivery-oriented mindset
- Good understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), with the ability to discuss GIS concepts with a wide variety of stakeholder
- Strong communication skills including the capacity to deliver presentations and trainings with ease
- Demonstrated project management skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities at once
- Ability to effectively work within a global team structure and carry-out both collaborative and individual work.
- Creative problem-solver
- Fluency in English and Portuguese and/or Spanish. Fluency in all three languages is preferred
