Job Summary: The System Operator is responsible for ensuring reliable water production, pumping, treatment, and distribution across assigned sites. This role involves operating equipment, maintaining accurate logs, and supporting preventive maintenance activities to guarantee uninterrupted water service. As an employee within the company, the Water System Operator is responsible for promoting accuracy and accountability, encouraging continuous learning from challenges, and to consistently deliver sustainable water solutions aligned with the company's mission, vision, values, and operational standards.1.0 Duties and Responsibilities:1.1 Water Production & Pump Operation Operate boreholes, pumps, Water treatment systems, and solar systems.Record pumping hours, flows, and pressures. 1.2 Treatment & Water Quality Support Monitor chlorine dosing, tank hygiene, and system cleanliness.Support water quality sampling. 1.3 System Monitoring & Maintenance Inspect equipment and report faults immediately.Perform minor maintenance and repair as directed by the Technical Officer.Support preventive maintenance and emergency repairs. 1.4 Distribution Support Report leaks, bursts, and illegal connections.Assist in meter inspections and valve operations. 1.5 Reporting Maintain daily logs and submit operational data. 2.0 Qualifications, Skills & Experience2.1 Faith & Culture Alignment A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.Alignment with Water Mission’s Statement of Faith and core values of Love, Excellence, and Integrity. 2.2 Qualifications KCSE/Craft Certificate/Certificate in Water Operations, Plumbing, or Mechanical engineering or equivalent. 2.3 Skills and Experience Experience in pump operations, and operation and maintenance of Water Treatment Systems is an advantage.Smartphone and mobile data collection proficiency – uses mobile tools to record field data.Technical aptitude – understands and operates water systems equipment.Integrity and discipline – reliable and consistent in following procedures.Attention to detail – accurate and thorough in monitoring and reporting.
