Water Mission
Job Summary: The position is responsible for implementing Water Mission Malawi’s (WMM) programs in Community Development, following established standards and procedures. The position requires that the person reside within Lilongwe. The position requires travel to remote locations within Malawi to support the implementation of Community Development initiatives at all levels and assist with other Community Development Activities. The position will report to the Community Development Coordinator.

1.0 General Duties
1.1 Mission Driven
- Maintain a strong Christian witness and model servant leadership to colleagues, partners, the communities we serve, and the public.
- Engage and participate in prayer before and after team meetings.
- Lead and participate in biblically based staff devotions.
2.0 Key Responsibilities
- Implementing community development activities in Water Mission’s Safe Water Project Areas.
- Implementing disaster response activities.
- Carrying out assessments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conducting Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) education to safe water targeted communities.
- Providing capacity building and support to Safe Water Committees (SWC) in the sustainable management of safe water projects.
- Preparing project activity reports and timely updating of the Water Mission’s reporting database.
- Collaborating with other WASH stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation of WASH services to communities.
- Participating in the development of a project opportunity for the continuity of WASH services.
- Monitoring and evaluation of Safe Water Projects to ensure the projects are effectively serving the communities.
- Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Transformative Community Development, Public Health, Education or any other related field.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in WASH sector or Community Development.
- Advanced skills with MS Office computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English, Chichewa and any indigenous languages)
- Professing testimony of Christian conversion and belonging to a Christ Centered Church.
- A clear calling to Christian service and integral mission.

- Excellent, analytical skills.

- Excellent team building and relationship skills.
Must have a valid driving license
