Vestas Southern Africa currently operates and maintains 14 wind farms in South Africa, 7 wind farms under construction. Vestas Southern Africa is currently looking for an Area Supervisor. The Area Supervisor will be responsible Service area 1, Within Region West which has 4 wind farms namely West Coast 1, Hopefield, Karusa and Soetwater WF's.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of services on an operational level with respect to process adherence, service quality, safety standards and performance
• Assigned staff is supervised/led/coordinated and a positive and effective working relationship is established / maintained
• People skills development, competencies and training actions are managed including safety related (Safety walks / talks)
• Compliance with Vestas standards across the dedicated site and processes, procedures and / or tools implemented continuously
• Ensures obeying regional laws and regulations
• Resource availability given to perform dedicated work orders
• Build and maintain customer relations
• Risk management
• Spare parts and tools management
• Planning and identifying better maintenance practices to ensure a increased performance
• Meeting customers and addressing customer issues
• Responsible for Safe working practices and ISO system adherence at Wind farm sites

Qualifications

• Post-Matric Engineering qualification (National higher Diploma, National Diploma, Trade Test, BTech or equivalent as a minimum)

Competencies

• Must have experience in a wind industry
• Minimum 2 years or more experience in a role of a Site Supervisor, managing wind turbine technicians
• Experience in operation and maintenance of a wind farm
• Physically and medically fit to work/climb a wind turbine
• Willingness to travel
• Strong wind turbine technical acumen
• Driver's license
