Region APC > Customer Project Execution - APAC > APAC Offshore Installation Site & Project Management

Inspect, diagnose, adjust, and ensure wind turbines mechanical completion, Perform cable installation, electrical tests and preliminary verification on wind turbine equipment including resolving electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic malfunctions.

Responsibilities

  • Finding faults on all turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic
  • Making routine inspections on all systems climbing up high wind turbine towers wearing a safety harness to carry out repair work
  • Maintaining and repairing main systems and components, such as transformers and cabling
  • updating the site manager on the progress of maintenance, repair or inspection work and producing reports and checklists
  • Travelling to other sites to fix a machine failure or breakdown
  • Supervising junior technicians, or inspecting the work of other onsite maintenance workers
  • Monitoring stock and ordering spare parts
  • Following strict health and safety procedures.
  • Diagnose problems involving wind turbine generators or control systems.
  • Test electrical components of wind systems with devices such as voltage testers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, infrared testers, or fiber optic equipment.
  • Test electrical circuits or components for proper functioning.
  • Start or restart wind turbine generator systems to ensure proper operations.
  • Troubleshoot or repair mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical malfunctions related to variable pitch systems, variable speed control systems, converter systems, or related components.
  • Troubleshoot equipment or systems operation problems.
  • Maintain tool and spare parts inventories required for repair, installation, or replacement services.
  • Maintain inventories of materials, equipment, or products.
  • Perform installation on wind turbine equipment, underground transmission systems, wind fields substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems.
  • Test structures, controls, or mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical systems, according to test plans or in coordination with engineers.
  • Test electrical equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Test mechanical systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Collect turbine data for testing or research and analysis.
  • Measure equipment outputs.
  • Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear.
  • Assist in assembly of individual wind generators or construction of wind farms.
  • Assemble structural components.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in offshore wind installation working as a supervisor or a related field
  • Good knowledge of offshore wind turbine installation techniques, procedures, and safety practices Experience managing installation teams, including contractors and subcontractors
  • Good communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Fluent in English. Mandarin desired.
  • Extensive experience implementing large projects.
