About the Role:

UpEnergy is at a time of exciting growth, and rapid expansion which is why we require an impact-driven and analytical Accountant to support the Finance Team. The accountant will report directly to the Finance Manager- Ghana.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Finance manager during annual financial audits and any other Periodic audits
• Working closely with the Ghana Finance team to ensure smooth running of operations
• Examining bank statements and reconciling them with general ledger entries
• Examining expenses submitted by employees
• Keeping an eye on incoming payments from accounts receivable and outgoing payments from accounts payable
• Preparing Payments by verifying documentation and requesting
• Creating company financial reports with all the necessary information included
• Analyzing data collected in order to determine the state of the company’s financial health
• Identify areas for improvement and implement improvements to processes
• Maintaining customer confidence and protecting operations by keeping financial information
• Working with the Finance Team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Perform general cost accounting and other related duties in the
• Managing accounts and ensuring all transactions balances out and all books are up to date
• Managing payment of statutory deductions like tax, pension and

Does this sound like you?

• Skilled in accounting, with working knowledge of Quick books
• Minimum academic qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any finance or accounting field
• Exceptional ability to collaborate, influence, and execute against strategy
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in accounting within an FMCG or manufacturing environment, with hands-on expertise in cost accounting.
• Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA is an added advantage
• Excellent communication skills (clear and concise) and interpersonal skills
• Experience in auditing
• Innovative mind‐set oriented toward constructive problem‐solving and collaboration with stakeholders from various sectors
• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, resourcefulness, and ability to multi‐task and adjust to changing priorities
• Ability to work independently, a self-starter that is excited to work in frontier markets
• Proactive problem solver who initiates troubleshooting to keep the project on track
