About the Role
The Product Support Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of electric cooking products through effective repair and maintenance activities. The role also provides technical support and training to the Customer Care team, manages spare parts inventory, and maintains accurate service documentation. The technician works closely with cross-functional teams to improve after-sales service processes and uphold quality and safety standards.
This role will report to the Production Manager (Technical Lead, Ghana).
Key Responsibilities
1. Repair and Maintenance
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electric cooking products in line with approved technical and quality standards.
Ensure repaired products meet performance and safety requirements before release.
Maintain detailed records of faults, damage, and servicing activities using established after-sales tracking systems.
2. Customer Care Support and Learning & Development
Provide technical support to the Customer Care team in resolving user concerns and product complaints.
Conduct training sessions for Customer Care staff on product usage, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance procedures.
3. Quality Control
Assist in pilot testing, validation, and field trials of new products.
Provide structured feedback to product and engineering teams based on service and field performance data.
4. Technical Documentation
Read and interpret electrical schematics, service manuals, and OEM-issued SOPs to support accurate diagnosis and repair.
Prepare, update, and maintain service reports and technical documentation.
5. Inventory Oversight
Manage spare parts inventory and ensure adequate stock levels of frequently used components.
Liaise with Supply Chain and Product teams to initiate spare parts requisitions and replenishment.
6. Safety and Compliance
Ensure all repair and servicing activities comply with applicable industry safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Implement and strictly adhere to safety protocols to protect technicians, customers, and end users.
7. Communication and Reporting
Liaise with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Sales, Supply Chain, and Customer Service, to ensure seamless service delivery.
Provide regular updates and service performance reports to Product Management and other relevant stakeholders.
Must Have
Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in electrical or electronic product/system maintenance.
Strong attention to detail with a clear focus on quality and safety.
Hands-on experience using electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
Ability to conduct independent technical research and problem analysis.
Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to interpret technical documentation and engineering terminology.
Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
