About the Role:
UpEnergy is at a time of exciting growth, expanding both in terms of product and geographic portfolio. In the context of our Expansion to the Mozambique market, we are looking for an experienced Distribution Finance Analyst who is passionate about our mission and motivated by the challenge to help UpEnergy run operations in a key market.
The Distribution Finance Analyst is responsible for analyzing and controlling financial performance and costs related to distribution and logistics operations. The role includes preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to support decision-making. The analyst monitors KPIs, profitability, and cost drivers to improve operational efficiency. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure financial control and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse financial data related to distribution, logistics, and supply chain operations
- Monitor and control costs associated with transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and delivery processes
- Prepare detailed financial reports, variance analyses, and performance dashboards for management review.
- Track key financial and operational performance indicators (KPIs) related to Distribution.
- Support pricing strategies and profitability analysis
- Identify inefficiencies, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with logistics, operations, procurement, and accounting teams to align financial and operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, policies, and procedures
- Assist in financial audits and provide accurate documentation related to distribution expenses
- Support strategic planning by providing financial insights and scenario analyses
- Improve financial models and reporting tools to enhance decision-making
- Review weekly field operations budgets and coordinate with finance for approval and timely payment
- Authorize stock issuance to distribution agents and ensure accurate records are maintained.
- Develop and monitor a credit control system in collaboration with Distribution and finance team members.
- Apply and enforce compliance with the sales and credit policy.
- Ensure daily sales are reconciled with zero discrepancies between salesforce and self reported distribution numbers.
- Reconcile the sales ledger against the waivers register/CRM/global distribution report
- Report any payment issues to management.
- Review the sales ledger.
You must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proficiency in Portuguese and English
- Previous experience in financial analysis, preferably in sales, distribution, logistics, or supply chain
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools
- Experience with ERP systems
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and KPI analysis
- Ability to analyse large data sets and translate financial information into actionable insights
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
