About the role

UpEnergy is at a time of exciting growth, expanding both in terms of product and geographic portfolio. In the context of our expansion in the Ghana market, we are looking for an experienced Customer Care Officer who would play a pivotal cross-functional role supporting data validation, inventory coordination, and operational implementation across the Ghana arm of UpEnergy. This individual will be responsible for fostering a responsive and data-driven communication bridge between field activities and operational leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Team Support (50%)

  • Conduct callbacks on customer Satisfaction for post-distribution monitoring and quality control.
  • Support reconciliation of sales and distribution data in line with carbon crediting program requirements.
  • Assist with field data review, flagging discrepancies and assisting with corrective follow-ups.
  • Maintain logs of customer queries and feedback and escalate unresolved issues to relevant data or tech teams.
  • Collaborate with the data team to prepare reports and summaries from customer interactions.
  • Support digital data entry, accuracy checks, and database updates.

Inventory Support (25%)

  • Support the coordination of stock issuance and receipt tracking in collaboration with warehouse and distribution teams.
  • Maintain accurate logs of product movement and reconcile against field reports and partner sales.
  • Assist with field-level verification of stock distribution where necessary.
  • Support real-time reporting on inventory availability and discrepancies.
  • Manage replacement of bad stoves and warranty claims.

Country Operations Support (25%)

  • Provide front-line customer support via phone, WhatsApp, or email on product usage, warranty claims, and issue resolution.
  • Track, report, and assist in resolving customer complaints to enhance user satisfaction.
  • Support the logistics and planning of outreach and community engagement events.
  • Act as a field liaison officer during operational roll-outs and research studies.
  • Support the development of a customer care intervention dashboard to enhance country-level operations.
  • Does this sound like you?
    Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Statistics, Data Management, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in customer care, field operations support, data support, or inventory/operations coordination—preferably within energy, FMCG, development, or last-mile distribution environments.
  • Prior experience working with field teams, customer databases, or operational reporting is highly desirable.

Good to have

  • Strong data handling and validation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience conducting customer callbacks, surveys, or post-distribution monitoring.
  • Proficiency in digital tools such as Google Sheets, Excel, CRMs, or mobile data collection platforms.
  • Basic understanding of inventory tracking, stock reconciliation, and warranty/returns processes.
  • Ability to prepare simple reports, summaries, and logs from customer and field data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage customers professionally via phone, WhatsApp, and email.
  • Familiarity with carbon credit programs, monitoring and evaluation, or impact reporting is an added advantage.
  • Experience working in the Ghanaian field operations context or rural community engagement is a plus.
