About the role:
UpEnergy Ghana is at a time of exciting growth, and rapid expansion, requiring an experienced and results-driven Regional Distribution Supervisor to lead sales operations and field execution within an assigned region. Reporting to the Head of Distribution, this role is responsible for driving sales growth, managing regional distribution networks, overseeing the performance of sales teams and Team Leads, and ensuring seamless last-mile delivery of UpEnergy products.
The ideal candidate should have strong leadership and analytical skills, deep knowledge of regional markets, a passion for building high-performing teams, and a proven ability to execute sales strategies in a dynamic, impact-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Regional Sales Leadership
- Lead, supervise, and motivate Team Leads and sales agents across the assigned region to achieve sales and distribution targets.
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with national objectives.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance, taking corrective action where necessary to meet KPIs.
2. Distribution & Channel Management
- Oversee the setup and management of distribution channels, ensuring efficient delivery of products to customers and partners.
- Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure adequate inventory and timely replenishment at regional warehouses and outlets.
- Identify and onboard new distributors, agents, and retail partners to expand market reach.
3. Market Development & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with regional stakeholders including NGOs, community leaders, and local government offices to support market penetration and brand visibility.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to inform product and pricing strategies.
4. Performance Management & Reporting
- Oversee data collection and reporting of sales and distribution metrics from Team Leads.
- Work closely with the Sales Operations Analyst to analyze sales performance and provide insights for strategic decisions.
- Ensure effective implementation of CRM and sales tracking tools across regional teams.
5. People Development & Team Building
- Recruit, train, and mentor sales teams within the region.
- Foster a performance-oriented culture emphasizing accountability, continuous learning, and teamwork.
- Conduct regular field visits to provide coaching and monitor execution quality.
6. Operational Excellence
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Manage budgets, control operational costs, and ensure efficient use of company resources.
- Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain Manager and Data Operations Manager to ensure operational alignment and accuracy in sales and inventory data.
Does this sound like you?
- Must be residing in any of the 4 regions mentioned- Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern and Central
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in regional sales or distribution management, preferably within FMCG, energy, or social enterprise sectors.
- Demonstrated success in managing large field sales teams and achieving ambitious growth targets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Proven experience building and managing distribution networks in rural and peri-urban areas.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM or sales management tools (e.g., Salesforce, Power BI).
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
Nice to have:
- Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- Experience in clean energy, carbon projects, or social enterprise models.
- Fluency in local languages in the assigned region.
