About the role:

UpEnergy is at a time of exciting growth, and rapid expansion which requires an impact-driven and experienced Finance and Administrative Officer to support the Finance Team..

The Financial administration officer will be responsible for handling day-to-day financial transactions, supporting budget planning and reporting, overseeing office administration, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and local regulations. The role will also involve supporting inventory management and reconciliation, as well as providing cross-functional support across all departments. The ideal candidate is one that is detail-oriented, trustworthy, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team to support UpEnergy’s mission of expanding access to clean energy solutions across Ghana.

This role will report to the Ghana Finance Manager. The role is based in Accra, Ghana.

Office Management:

  • Overseeing day-to-day office operations and ensuring a well-organized work environment.
  • Managing office supplies, inventory, and procurement of new supplies when necessary.
  • Serving as a point of contact for internal and external communications.
  • Coordinating and scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
  • Maintaining and organizing company records, files, and documents.
  • Preparing and distributing reports, memos, and other written communications.
  • Ensuring a positive and professional image of the organization.

Support Services:

  • Assisting with the preparation of presentations, reports, and other materials.
  • Providing administrative support to various departments and staff members.

Human Resources:

  • Assisting with HR-related tasks such as onboarding new employees, maintaining employee records, and coordinating training sessions.
  • Managing employee attendance and leave records.

Financial Administration:

  • Handling basic financial tasks such as invoicing, expense tracking, and petty cash.
  • Assisting with making payments and journal entries in accounting software.

Project Coordination:

  • Supporting the planning and execution of company projects and events.
  • Coordinating with team members to ensure project timelines and goals are met.

Compliance and Policy Enforcement:

  • Ensuring that company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assisting with compliance-related tasks and documentation.

Does this sound like you?

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in finance, administration, or operations
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budget tracking, and compliance practice
  • Good knowledge of Ghanaian tax and statutory requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a proactive attitude

Nice to Have

  • Relevant Management Certification.
