About the role

In this context, UpEnergy is seeking driven and passionate individuals for both the Inventory Intern and Finance Intern roles. The Inventory Intern will assist in managing and maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring efficient inventory processes, and supporting the inventory and distribution team. The Finance Intern will assist the Finance team with tasks such as documentation and filing, fuel reconciliation and tracking, updating the vehicle efficiency tracker, following up on invoices and receipts, providing administrative support, and attending monthly stock counts with the procurement team. This role is ideal for someone seeking hands-on experience in inventory management within a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities: This role requires a keen ability to work cross-functionally with country teams and key central functions including Distribution, Carbon Operations, Business Development, Finance, and others. The right candidates will liaise with the Inventory and Procurement Officer and the Finance and Operations officer to ensure the creation, adoption, implementation, and monitoring of their respective departments. They will provide support to key personnel in both the inventory and finance departments.

Key Responsibilities for Inventory and Procurement;

  1. Transport and Fleet coordination
  2. Reconciling Invoices
  3. Assist with Operational Activities related to procurement
  4. Coordinate with the finance team in ensuring cost efficiency is achieved
  5. Tracking online motor vehicle log sheets

Key Responsibilities for Finance Intern ;

  1. Assist with support documentation and filing both physical and Dropbox.
  2. Support with weekly fuel recon and tracking.
  3. Assist with updating the vehicle efficiency tracker.
  4. Follow up on invoices, receipts, and any other documentation.
  5. Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.

  • Diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance or a related field (A degree added advantage).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
