About the role

In this context, UpEnergy is seeking a driven and passionate individual who will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service by supporting the data and customer experience team in managing customer and end-user inquiries and maintaining high service standards. In this role, you will engage directly with customers via phone, email, and live chat, assisting them with a range of questions and concerns while ensuring prompt and courteous resolutions. This internship offers a hands-on learning experience within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, allowing you to develop essential skills in communication, customer relations, and problem-solving.

The role of call center intern will provide you the opportunity to learn and contribute to various aspects of customer service and data management, working closely with the team to improve service processes and maintain data accuracy. This role also provides exposure to our product and service offerings, giving you a comprehensive understanding of our operations and how we strive to meet and exceed end-user expectations.

Key Responsibilities.

Customer Support

Make verification calls, respond to customer inquiries via calls, emails, and live chats, and escalate complex issues as needed.

Documentation

Record customer interactions, update records, and assist with tracking service metrics.

Learning & Development

Participate in training sessions and practice skills under supervision.

Process Improvement

Identify recurring issues, suggest improvements, and contribute to workflow efficiency.

Cross-Functional Support

Collaborate with various teams on customer inquiries and assist with administrative tasks.

Does this sound like you?

  • Full grade twelve certificate and a diploma in any field (a degree is an added advantage).
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Tonga, Lozi, Nyanja, Bemba, and English).
  • Customer service knowledge
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
