What We Can Achieve Together:

The Video Editor/Producer (VE/P) creates and delivers video content in support of The Nature Conservancy’s (TNC) marketing goals, organizational priorities, and conservation outcomes. The VE/P brings advanced editing and producing skills to the team to create films that will engage our audiences. This position is suited for someone with a strong knowledge of the entire video production process because this role will be responsible for editing and producing films, with a strong emphasis on owning films from start to finish with direct supervision. The VE/P position is part of the Marketing and Communications department at TNC, specifically within the Storytelling & Content team on the Visual Storytelling team, which includes photo and video professionals.

We're Looking for You:

The Video Producer (VE/P) spearheads creative video projects across TNC, championing innovative, audience-centered storytelling to advance our conservation mission. The VE/P will bring advanced skills in concepting, producing, scriptwriting, and editing, alongside a technical foundation in sound design, sound mixing, and color correction. Strong editing skills are required and essential to this role, as many productions will be based on leveraging our extensive footage library in new and engaging ways. This role involves working both independently and in close collaboration with other content creators and requires flexibility to adapt to TNC’s varied creative needs, workflows, and feedback cycles. As a strategic creative partner, the VE/P will develop creative briefs and outlines to tailor content to each project and client. They will also help with the video team’s ongoing work of advising other teams on best practices for video production and ethical storytelling, ensuring brand accessibility standards and legal compliance for videos, maintaining our video library, and assisting with the YouTube Channel.

Responsibilities & Scope:

  • Manages and executes creative projects, applying editing and producing skills.

  • Coordinates the work of peers; does not directly supervise TNC staff.

  • Supervises volunteers, interns, temporary staff, or vendors as needed.

  • Works within a budget to complete projects.

  • Acts independently on assigned tasks and projects.

  • Directs individual projects as assigned.

  • Refers questions to the supervisor.

  • Collaborates on developing and implementing brand identity, brand story, and brand standards across the organization.

  • Creates videos based on creative briefs and/or by developing and concepting original content.

  • Establishes and nurtures collaborative relationships across the organization, partnering on creative solutions.

  • Collaborates on key marketing initiatives created by the world office marketing units.

  • Proactively develops new video concepts to meet anticipated organizational needs.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Occasional travel is required for business meetings, trainings and/or team retreats.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum 5 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience cultivating and managing client/customer relationships.

  • Experience writing, editing and proofreading.

  • Experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates experience working with a broad range of clients and subject matter, tailoring storytelling to diverse audiences and capturing attention across varied topics.

  • Experience with a broad range of clients and subject matter; agency experience is a plus. Creates short-form branded content across multiple platforms, including 2–5-minute films and social media films optimized for engagement, with familiarity in current social media trends and platform-specific best practices.

  • Excels in emotional, human-centered storytelling that engages and inspires audience response.

  • Applies technical skills in sound design, sound mixing, and color correction, including matching different camera outputs.

  • Demonstrates advanced expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing; familiarity with Adobe After Effects is a plus.

  • Possesses strong skills in creative ideation, developing creative briefs, and strategically partnering with clients to clarify and achieve their vision.

  • Produces video concepts and oversees film productions with proven experience; experience operating a camera and shooting in the field is a plus but not required.

  • Commits to ethical storytelling with an inclusive, collaborative approach to creative work.

  • Works effectively in a remote environment prioritizing communication, ownership of tasks, and a solutions-oriented mindset Possesses strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Maintains strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Brings a proactive, self-starting approach to creative storytelling.

  • Multi-lingual skills and cross-cultural experience are a plus.

Salary Information:

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $60,605- $90,780. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
