JOB TITLE: Construction Project Coordinator (Contract)

CONTRACT DURATION: 4 Months

LOCATION: Johannesburg

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Valid Driver’s license

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Efficient in MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Efficient in MS SharePoint
  • Strong organizational and negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-starter and ability to work professionally and independently
  • Charismatic personality with strong relationship management skills

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in construction/ logistics or procurement environment

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Procurement:

  • Construction planning (Project Review #4-PR4) for each of their project under control
  • Issue unique requests for quotations (RFQ’s) per project unique requirements
  • Save quotations on SharePoint in the relevant project folder
  • Create draft Excel budget and present to CM team and to Snr Construction controller for further action

Construction procurement of material and/ or services for each project under control:

  • Validate services Purchase Order (SAP PO) requests against the initial project budget
  • Cross check the requested material order against stock levels
  • Generate RFQ for material not in stock issue to CM for approval
  • Ensure document financial compliance prior to SAP Purchase Order (PO) process
  • Generate the SAP Purchase Order (PO) with suppliers or vendors
  • Manage logistics to get material or services to site
  • Manage finalization of backorders with suppliers

Office Administration:

  • Assist the construction management team with compiling and presenting site starter packs for each individual projects, including:
  • Stationery kit
  • Site start-up documentation kit
  • 2 × A3 AFC drawing bound packs
  • 1 × A1 overall AFC drawing pack
  • HSE and/ or HR poster pack

Assist the senior construction management team individually with:

  • Compiling and presenting expense claims
  • Planning and booking travel itinerary
  • Ad-hoc tasks as and when required
  • Annual PPE procurement
  • Annual PPE issuing
