JOB TITLE: Procurement and Logistics Coordinator

MANAGER: Procurement and Logistics Manager

LOCATION: Cape Town

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain or similar
  • SAP Business 1 training
  • Relevant logistic training

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • MS Office
  • SAP Business 1 experience
  • Experience in bookkeeping

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar position
  • SAP experience, or any other working experience on ERP systems
  • Proven record for work done in procurement

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supplier Management

  • Maintaining preferred supplier database
  • Capturing supplier documentation e.g. tax clearance and B-BBEE certificates
  • Monitor supplier performance
  • Monitor accounts with suppliers

Procurement

  • Managing and supporting the day to day work of the Procurement Clerk
  • Assisting with cash flow forecasts
  • Tracking and following up on orders, payments, deliveries etc.
  • Relaying order specifications and requirements to suppliers
  • Monitor compliance to procurement procedures
  • Raising purchase requisitions, landed costs, stock issues and receipts on SAP
  • Updating stock numbers on SAP and assessment of variances
  • Uploading documents to SAP such as quotes, approvals and PODs to assist in the release of payments
  • Liaise with CPT / JHB / DBN / PE and site warehouses on stock levels
  • Tracking inter-site stock movements and highlight to creditors and accurate cost allocations

Logistics

  • Assist with the maintaining of an accurate and organised receiving process of materials at each assigned site and all supplies are accounted for
  • Frequent supplier communication to assure on time deliveries
  • Close communication with the project managers and construction site managers with regards to delivery dates
  • Constant communication with site clerks to resolve material shortages, damages and returns
  • Verify material receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages, spot checks on sites
  • Managing logistic suppliers (transport, clearing agents, exporters, importers)
