The Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) implementation Engineer’s primary responsibility is to design, implement, and optimize energy storage solutions involving battery technologies. This role will play a crucial role in developing and integrating battery systems to enhance energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability for various applications in the Terra Firma portfolio.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field.
- Valid Driver’s License

- Homer/PVSOL/PVSYST/ Helioscope
- CAD experience
- Communication systems design
- Perform and review power system studies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with Atess, Sungrow, Huawei and Blue Nova preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand energy storage requirements and objectives.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and energy consultants.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of battery systems with existing infrastructure.
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate the feasibility and suitability of implementing battery systems.
- Develop detailed engineering plans for battery system projects for a variety of user applications.
- Research and evaluate the latest suitable battery technologies and energy storage solutions.
- Stay updated on relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations related to energy storage systems.
- Ensure that battery implementations comply with safety, environmental, fire and performance standards.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to source and evaluate battery components and systems from reputable suppliers.
- Contribute to relationships with key vendors to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality components and systems.
- Oversee the testing and commissioning of battery systems, ensuring they meet design specifications and performance expectations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the commissioning phase.
- Implement continuous monitoring systems to track the performance of installed battery systems.
- Analyse data and implement optimization strategies to maximize energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop training programs for end-users and maintenance personnel on the operation and maintenance of battery systems.
- Create comprehensive documentation, including operation manuals and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and solutions.az
