Position Overview

We are hiring a Senior QA Engineer to join the technology team of a global biotechnology company. In this role, you will drive and elevate the quality assurance process for a high-impact software platform, from defining test requirements and building automation frameworks to mentoring junior QA engineers and signing off on releases. Responsibilities

• Conduct manual and automated testing across the product, identifying defects and verifying software meets defined acceptance criteria.
• Continue to develop and extend the existing automation suite, embedding it more deeply into the development process.
• Design and build new testing frameworks where necessary to improve test coverage, reliability, and speed.
• Participate in the full product development lifecycle, from defining test requirements at the start of a project to signing off on releases for quality.
• Track and manage test issues, working closely with engineers and product teams to resolve them efficiently.
• Write and review concise test documentation, and revise older test cases to achieve greater testing coverage.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and promote best testing practices across the team.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product, and other stakeholders within an agile development environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, with a strong focus on test automation.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining test frameworks and test cases.
• Strong programming experience in Python.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and test frameworks such as Pytest.
• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, QC) and API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
• Ability to work effectively in agile or Scrum-based teams, both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent written and spoken English, and a meticulous, quality-driven mindset.

Nice to have:

• Any previous experience or study related to bioinformatics
• Experience managing QA projects end-to-end.
• Experience mentoring or leading junior QA engineers.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automation into the build process.

Location: Remote (based in Kenya)

Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EAT

Contracting: If selected, you will be hired by Tana and embedded full-time with the client.
