Position overview

We are seeking a high-potential Recruiter to source, attract, and hire top talent for Tana, for roles such as QA engineering, data analysis, junior developers, IT infrastructure, DevOps and tech support engineering. You will play a key role in identifying qualified candidates, conducting interviews and skills assessments, and ensuring a smooth hiring experience. This role requires excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This position is hybrid (3 days per week in-office, Tuesday-Thursday). Candidates must be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Responsibilities:

  • Review applications for Tana’s Fellowship Program, assess candidate qualifications, and conduct initial screenings and in-depth interviews to determine their skills, experience, and potential for success at Tana and our client partners.
  • Conduct in-depth interviews with candidates to evaluate technical and soft skills, and make recommendations about their fit with the requirements of Tana’s partner companies.
  • Promote Tana’s brand and values through social media, university careers fairs, webinars, industry events, and other channels, and continuously explore innovative recruitment methods to optimize talent acquisition.
  • Follow process guides and standard operating procedures to ensure high quality recruitment experiences, while also contributing content to guides and procedures when needed.
  • Document recruitment processes and outcomes thoroughly. Track recruitment metrics to evaluate effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Eligible to work in Kenya
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, IT, Computer Science or related fields.
  • 2-4 years of work experience in a role with related responsibilities or transferable skills. Previous experience working in recruitment is a bonus.
  • Some background or experience with Computer Science, Data and/or Information Technology (including in a recruitment or HR capacity) is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to meticulously review and analyze information to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to express ideas clearly and present confidently.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to take initiative and find innovative ways to solve challenges.
  • Experience working at a startup is a bonus.
