About the Role

SunCulture specializes in solar power irrigation systems and has various products that support customers' needs. The Head of Product will lead our product managers in developing and commercializing life changing technology that solves the biggest daily challenges for the world's 570 million smallholder farming households.

We're looking for a visionary Head of Product to join our team. You'll play a crucial role in shaping the future of our product portfolio and making a positive impact in the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building a High-Performance Culture:

    • Cultivate a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the product team, where individuals are empowered to achieve their full potential.

    • Lead by example, setting high standards for performance, professionalism, and accountability.

    • Establish clear goals and expectations for the team, providing regular feedback, coaching, and mentorship to support their growth and development.

    • Promote a culture of learning and innovation, where team members are encouraged to experiment, take risks, and learn from failures.

    • Celebrate successes and recognize achievements, fostering a positive and motivating work environment.

  • Product Strategy and Execution:

    • Collaborate with the Director of Product to develop and execute a customer-centric product strategy that addresses market challenges and opportunities.

    • Lead the ideation, prioritization, and execution of key product initiatives, leveraging market insights and customer feedback to drive innovation and growth.

    • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of product releases, meeting quality, timeline, and budgetary requirements.

  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

    • Serve as a key liaison between the product team and other stakeholders, including senior leadership, sales, marketing, and customer success teams.

    • Advocate for customer needs, gathering feedback and insights to inform product strategy and roadmap decisions.

    • Communicate product updates, milestones, and successes to internal and external stakeholders, building excitement and support for our products.

Does this sound like you?

  • Bachelor's degree, engineering, computer science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in hardware product management, with a track record of delivering successful products in diverse markets.

  • Deep understanding of hardware technology. 7+ years of experience in firmware development, with a strong focus on embedded systems.

  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages and experience with embedded software development tools (e.g., compilers, debuggers, IDEs).

  • 8+ years of experience in people management, with a demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.

  • Deep understanding of market landscapes, including cultural nuances, regulatory requirements, and customer preferences.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across different contexts
