About the role:
The Associate Product Manager will work closely with the Global Product team, Research and Procurement, Operations and Sales teams to ensure seamless execution of new product pilots and implement various processes in line with introduction and scale up of new products.

What you will be expected to do:


1. New Product Identification
  • Conduct customer surveys, field visits, and market benchmarking to identify new product opportunities.
  • Develop survey templates, gather customer feedback, and present insights to stakeholders.
  • Evaluate other market offerings and data to identify differentiation opportunities and validate market potential.
  • Translate product strategies into prototype requirements and test new products for commercial viability.
  • Provide detailed feedback and specifications to the R&D team.
2. New Product Pilots
  • Oversee pilot projects end-to-end, defining goals, deliverables, KPIs, timelines, and stakeholder accountabilities.
  • Monitor pilot performance (customer engagement, usage, prospects generated) and ensure pilot area, inventory, and training readiness.
  • Conduct Engineering and Technical Validation Testing; prepare Product Requirements Documents (PRD).
  • Gather and present customer feedback, lessons learned, and GTM recommendations.
  • Ensure a seamless transition from pilot to commercial launch.
3. New Product Introduction
  • Communicate product vision, value, and differentiation clearly to internal teams and customers.
  • Work jointly with various departments to design sales, service, and route-to-market processes.
  • Provide assistance to training, marketing, and after-sales teams by reviewing materials, FAQs, and packaging to highlight the Customer Value Proposition (CVP).
  • Partner with R&D to implement product iterations and ensure timely communication of updates to all stakeholders.

You might be a strong candidate if you have/are:

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Engineering or any related technical field.
  • Good understanding of business and operational processes.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in off-grid or renewable energy, including solar system sizing and installation. Experience with mini-grids is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in product management.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and manage projects efficiently.
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and/or Google Workspace (Forms, Sheets, Docs, Slides).
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and resilience in a fast-paced, growing organization; able to convey product choices clearly across diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and the ability to work autonomously while applying innovative and practical problem-solving approaches to various obstacles.
