The role holder has a wide scope of design and validation tasks aimed at ensuring production efficiency and product quality to enable the large scale production and adoption of Sun King Clean Cooking technologies.

What you would be expected to do:
- Mechanical troubleshooting of Incoming Quality Inspection and In-Line production rigs to ensure production up-time
- Evaluation of manufacturer quality systems and yield efficiency (TAKT timing) to prioritize production equipment development priorities and find opportunities for improving monthly production
- Develop rigs and fixtures that improve efficiency of incoming and outgoing quality inspections of Clean Cooking products
- Test hardware prototypes, analyse and interpret performance data
- Test end of line functional testing tools to be used in hardware production lines
- Perform maintenance activities including repairs, and modifications to existing hardware Assist in executing work orders for hardware
- Tooling and rig maintenance including the building, maintaining, and updating of custom air test systems.
- Oversight of mechanical validation activities (executed by manufacturing team).
- Assist Senior QA Engineers with testing new hardware improvements
- Build relationships with local skilled vendors for fabrication of production equipment components & product design prototypes
- Assist Hardware Engineering team with CAD design of production equipment and fixtures as needed
- Assist the creation and coordination of design validation tests performed by the manufacturer to prove product design requirements are being met.
- First contact and advisor for mechanical failures in the field
- Gather feedback from product stakeholders, form recommendations, and communicate learnings and ideas effectively to the product design team
- Assist Senior QA Engineers with troubleshooting product hardware related issues observed during IQC and field deployments.
- Interrogate root cause of systematic product failures and work quickly to resolve them through design, process, or component changes.
- Monitor hardware and firmware performance in the field
- Evaluate field performance data to identify trends and provide insights that assist product improvements and decision-making.
- Work with internal stakeholders to coordinate design, development, and production improvements. This includes collaborating with the Production & Quality and Hardware Engineering teams on planning, prototyping, testing, and validation to ensure seamless execution and product quality.
- Work with external stakeholders to align design intent with manufacturing and field realities. This involves engaging production partners, vendors, and field teams to improve efficiency, ensure feasibility, and gather user feedback for continuous product enhancement.
You might be a strong candidate if you:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Possess a minimum 2 years of relevant experience, including CAD design and prototyping using industry-standard tools.
- Have ands-on skills in building, testing, and maintaining mechanical or design prototypes.
- Demonstrate proven ability to produce and interpret engineering documentation (schematics, assemblies, BOMs, etc.).
- Have excellent evaluative, problem-solving, and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Are attentive to detail, team work mindset, and willingness to learn and travel when required.
