About the role:
The role holder will assist the implementation of Sun King’s health, safety, and wellbeing programs across warehouse, assembly, and retail operations. They will monitor compliance, conduct safety inspections, manage incident reporting, and facilitate trainings to promote a safe and healthy workplace. The role also involves assisting emergency preparedness and employee wellbeing initiatives to foster a strong safety culture.

What you would be expected to do:
- Monitor activities within Sun King’s warehouse, TV and phone assembly lines, after-sales product refurbishment center, LPG operations, and Sun King’s retail shop operations to ensure compliance with Sun King’s health and safety related policies, processes, and legal requirements.
- Conduct regular safety walks, inspections, and hazard observations, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Assist in the safe storage, handling, and disposal of materials, including e-waste and refurbished products.
- Maintain up to date records of incidents, accidents, near-misses, and corrective actions.
- Assist audits, inspections, and reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, near misses, and corrective/preventive actions.
- Assist supervisors in carrying out task-based risk assessments and job safety evaluation.
- Assist in incident investigations, root cause evaluation, and reporting.
- Ensure fire extinguishers, first aid kits, PPE, and other safety equipment are available and in good condition.
- Deliver safety inductions for new staff, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, refresher sessions, and health, safety wellbeing awareness campaigns.
- Coach employees on correct use of PPE, ergonomic practices, and safe equipment handling.
- Assist the development and execution of fire drills and evacuation exercises.
- Ensure first aiders and fire marshals are trained and active.
- Check readiness of emergency exits, alarms, and safety signage.
- Work with HR and supervisors in rolling out health and wellbeing programs e.g. fatigue management, workplace ergonomics, occupational health checks, wellness campaigns and mental health awareness.
- Identify and mitigate ergonomic risks in warehouse and TV and phone assembly processes.
- Be a first point of contact for employees and subcontractors raising wellbeing or safety concerns.
You might be a strong candidate if you:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years experience in a health and safety role, preferably within a warehouse, manufacturing, or assembly environment.
- Are knowledgeable with occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and standards (ISO 45001, NFPA, IFC or equivalent).
- Have experience in conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and training sessions.
- Have strong attention to detail with practical problem-solving skills and a hands-on, organized approach to work.
- Are proficient in MS Office / Google Suite; knowledge of data evaluation tools and dashboards.
- Have excellent communication and people relations skills, with the capacity to engage and influence employees at all levels while promoting a strong safety and wellbeing culture.
