About the role:
Sun King is looking for an Operations Manager – Cameroon who will take full ownership of end-to-end operational delivery in the country. He/She will supervise importation, customs clearance, warehousing, inventory management, fulfillment, aftersales, and logistics optimization, ensuring operational excellence in line with Cameroonian legislation and business targets. He/She will be accountable for strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement across all operational touchpoints, while navigating the unique logistics, regulatory, and market setbacks of Cameroon. This is a senior management role requiring strong executive mindset, cross-functional interactions and hands-on problem-solving.

What you would be expected to do

  • Strategic Operations Management
-Develop, implement, and oversee the country’s operations strategy, aligning with the company’s global targets.
-Drive efficiency, cost optimization, and operational scalability across all functions.
-Anticipate and proactively address logistics and supply chain risks in the Cameroonian market.
  • Imports, Customs & Compliance
-Supervise end-to-end product importation processes, including customs clearance, duty exemptions, and regulatory approvals.
- Maintain strong working relationships with customs, port authorities, brokers, and government agencies.
- Ensure 100% compliance with Cameroon’s import/export laws and energy-related regulations.
  • Procurement & Vendor Management
-Pilot procurement planning to ensure timely availability of products and operational materials.
-Negotiate with suppliers and transporters for best pricing and service contracts.
-Monitor supplier performance, ensuring adherence to quality, timelines, and compliance standards.
  • Warehousing & Inventory Control
- Oversee multi-location warehouse operations ensuring correct handling, security, and stock rotation.
- Implement robust inventory controls to prevent losses, minimize overstocking, and ensure accurate reporting.
- Monitor field stock movement to reduce shrinkage and optimize availability.
  • Fulfillment & Last-Mile Delivery
-Manage and optimize order processing, picking, packing, and dispatch to retail points and field agents.
-Design cost-effective last-mile delivery routes for urban, peri-urban, and rural regions.
Pilot the deployment of logistics technology solutions to improve delivery performance.
  • Aftersales & Reverse Logistics
-Assist after-sales operations, including product returns, warranty claims, and repairs.
- Implement efficient reverse logistics processes to manage faulty stock and warranty claims.
  • Systems, Reporting & Process Improvement
-Ensure ERP/SAP S4HANA accuracy for all operational transactions.
-Produce high-quality operational performance reports (inventory levels, delivery times, cost KPIs).
-Pilot process improvement initiatives for efficiency gains and cost reduction.
-Identify and implement ERP/SAP process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination
-Negotiate and manage contracts with logistics providers, warehouse operators, and service vendors.
-Interact closely with Sales, Finance, and Customer Service to align operational delivery with commercial goals.

You might be a strong candidate if you

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Have 5+ years in operations, logistics, or supply chain management, including at least 2 years in management role and: -in High-volume warehousing & inventory management -in Import/export compliance in Cameroon - in Urban and rural last-mile delivery -Aftersales & reverse logistics operations -Have ERP/SAP- process management
  • Have strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP S4HANA highly desirable) and MS Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Have Experience using BI/reporting tools to track operational KPIs.
  • Have deep knowledge of customs procedures, duty exemptions, and logistics constraints in Cameroon.
  • Have proven ability to optimize operations for both urban and rural distribution environments.
  • Have strong people management and team development skills.
  • Have exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking.
  • Have high resilience under pressure and ability to deliver results in complex, fast-paced environments.
