What you would be expected to do:
- Design and implement quality control procedures for all stages of the smartphone manufacturing process.
- Conduct meticulous inspections and tests on raw materials, components, and finished smartphones to identify defects and ensure they meet specifications and standards.
- Evaluate test results and quality data using techniques like Statistical Process Control (SPC) to identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Steer investigations into quality-related issues, establish their root causes, and develop effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Evaluate potential suppliers and ensure the quality of incoming materials and components meets required standards.
- Create and maintain detailed, accurate records of all quality control activities, inspections, tests, and procedures.
- Conduct internal and potentially external audits to verify adherence to quality standards and regulations.
- Work closely with other engineering teams, production, and management to resolve quality issues and improve overall product quality and process efficiency.
- Train production staff and quality control staff on quality control procedures, best practices, and new quality standards.
- Ensure that all processes and products comply with relevant industry standards, government regulations, and company policies.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Manage the calibration of all measuring instruments and equipment used for quality control purposes to ensure accuracy.
You might be a strong candidate if you:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial engineering, or related field.
- Possess 2–5 years of experience in quality assurance or manufacturing environment preferably in electronic assembly or repair industries for smartphones, televisions, fridges or precision manufacturing.
- Have working knowledge of ISO, Six Sigma, Lean, and quality auditing techniques.
- Are proficient in data evaluation tools like Minitab, Excel, SPC software, etc.
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills .
- Have the ability to conduct In-depth root-cause evaluation with best practice RCA techniques.
- Possess hands-on experience with supplier quality management or regulatory audits.
