About the role:
The Service Center Technician at Sun King will be diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electronic and/or mechanical products returned by customers. They ensure products meet quality and functionality standards before returning them to customers or restocking. The technician also provides technical help, maintains inventory of spare parts, and follows service protocols and safety guidelines.

What you would be expected to do:

  • Diagnose faults in returned products (e.g., solar systems, appliances, electronics).
  • Perform repairs and maintenance as per manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct functional and quality tests after repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and time taken.
  • Liaise with customer service teams on repair statuses and technical issues.
  • Ensure proper documentation for warranty and non-warranty repairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the service center.
  • Comply with safety and operational procedures.

You might be a strong candidate if you:

  • Technical diploma or certificate in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with product repairs and diagnostics.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with tools and test equipment.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and reporting.

Sun King collects payments digitally through mobile money systems and its 28,000 field agents — over 650,000 payments each day. Embedded electronics inside each Sun King device regulate usage based on payments, similar to the operation of a pre-paid mobile or electricity meter.
