What you would be expected to do
- Process all import shipping documents (Form M to PAAR) ahead of the arrival of each consignment in Nigeria.
- Achieve delivery of consignments to warehouses within stipulated days of arrival at the port in Nigeria.
- Process all export shipping documents (CI and PL).
- Ensure receiving all BLs within the stipulated days of vessel departure from port of origin.
- Effectively work with the planning, warehouse and finance teams to ensure a seamless import and delivery process.
- Maintain good relationships and communication with clearing agents and government officials to ensure an itch free clearing process and to ultimately deliver consignments at the warehouses within the estimated delivery time.
- Ensure timely update is provided to stakeholders on all issues arising from the port.
- Ensure adherence to all regulations, e.g. using the right HS codes to process shipping documents to prevent delays in clearing each consignment.
- Process duty payment within the stipulated timeline, receiving the invoice from clearing agents, also follow up with approvals to ensure payment is made.
You might be a strong candidate if you
- Good organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and process improvement.
- B.sc/HND in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in import and export operations, inventory control, or logistics management.
- Experience with import and export documentation processing, PO and GRN Computation on SAP.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders across departments external stakeholders.
