The Team you will join:
The Truck Driver is accountable for transporting goods from one location to another. Their job duties include loading their vehicles, abiding by traffic laws and ensuring safe unloading and delivery at their destination.

What you would be expected to do:
- Long-distance driving
- Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers
- Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
- Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle
- Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with regulations
- Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
- Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules
- Reporting defects, accidents and violations
- Performing daily maintenance of the truck (refueling, checking vehicle condition, cleaning etc.)
- Loading and unloading box trucks with pallet jacks
- Interacting with customers in a professional manner
- Performing pre and post-trip vehicle inspection reports
- Recording cargo deliveries
- Verifying loads for accuracy
- Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Complying with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
You might be a strong candidate if you:
- Have a valid driver’s license that allows one to drive heavy commercial vehicles ( C1 Class Driving Licence).
- Posses basic education with at least a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
- Have extensive experience driving heavy commercial vehicles for 1-3 years with clean driving records.
- A person of integrity and possess a high degree of personal integrity and professionalism.
- Able to demonstrate sound judgement, excellent communication skills.
- Passionate about working within rural, off-grid consumer set up.
- Able to to demonstrate strong knowledge of safety regulations, familiar with traffic rule and laws.
- Able to display good physical fitness, good hand-eye coordination and great visual and hearing acuity.
- Can drive long hours and travel regularly.
- Possess extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
- Can display adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.).
