Job Description – Country Energy Head

Location: Africa – Country Specific (East / West African Countries)

Role Overview

Lead the development and operations of Spiro's country-level Energy Network, ensuring reliable, cost-effective and scalable power for battery-swapping stations, EV charging infrastructure and other facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the country's energy strategy and infrastructure plan.
• Lead deployment of battery-swapping, EV charging, solar, BESS and backup power infrastructure.
• Manage relationships with utilities, power suppliers, EPC contractors and energy partners.
• Drive energy procurement, cost optimization and CAPEX/OPEX management.
• Improve network reliability, uptime and energy efficiency.
• Develop renewable-energy solutions to reduce dependence on grid/diesel power.
• Implement energy monitoring and management systems.
• Lead vendors, contractors and the country energy team.
• Ensure compliance with electrical, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Support Spiro's expansion by developing a scalable energy network across key cities and regions.

Candidate Profile

• 15–20+ years of experience in Telecom Energy, EV, Battery Swapping, EV Charging, Renewable Energy, Power or Distributed Energy.
• Experience managing large-scale, distributed energy infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of power systems, solar, BESS, batteries and EV charging/swapping.
• Experience in energy procurement, commercial negotiations and vendor management.
• Exposure to CAPEX/OPEX and P&L management.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
• Engineering degree in Electrical / Power / Energy preferred; MBA is an advantage.
