Talent Acquisition Specialist
People & HR · Full-time
Lagos, Nigeria
Role Overview
We're looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist who owns the full recruitment cycle end to end and knows how to find great people before they start looking. You'll partner closely with hiring managers across the business, build pipelines for hard-to-fill roles, and make sure every candidate has an experience that reflects well on our brand. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on pace, enjoys the hunt, and measures success by the quality of the people they bring in.
What You'll Do
- Own full-cycle recruitment for a portfolio of roles across functions and levels, from intake meeting through offer acceptance and handover to onboarding.
- Lead proactive sourcing using advanced Boolean search, X-ray searches, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, niche job boards, and professional communities to reach passive talent.
- Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, build realistic candidate profiles, align on timelines, and advise on market conditions and compensation expectations.
- Screen and assess candidates through structured interviews, competency-based evaluation, and clear, well-documented feedback.
- Deliver an excellent candidate experience with timely communication, transparency, and respect at every stage, including for candidates who aren't selected.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and critical roles to reduce time-to-hire.
- Keep the ATS accurate and use data (time-to-fill, source effectiveness, pipeline conversion, offer acceptance rate) to report on progress and improve the process.
- Contribute to employer branding by representing the company at career fairs, universities, and industry events, and shaping job adverts that attract the right profiles.
- Support diversity and inclusion by building diverse slates and applying fair, consistent selection practices.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in talent acquisition, with a strong track record of full-cycle recruitment (in-house, agency, or both).
- Advanced sourcing skills, including confident use of Boolean strings, X-ray searching, and creative channels to engage passive candidates.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment such as a startup, scale-up, high-growth company, or agency, managing multiple open roles at once without losing quality.
- Proven ability to influence and advise hiring managers, pushing back constructively when needed.
- Hands-on experience with ATS platforms and LinkedIn Recruiter.
- Strong assessment and interviewing skills, with a good eye for both capability and culture add.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, written and verbal.
- Highly organised, data-aware, and comfortable reporting on recruitment metrics.
