Role overview

Lead the operational excellence of our national EV battery and vehicle IoT ecosystem. Ensure 99.9%+ availability of connected infrastructure, optimize battery performance monitoring, and drive continuous improvement of our IoT operational processes to serve all Spiro's connected assets across the country

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage daily IoT platform performance, device connectivity, and data flow.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and stability of IoT systems.
• Handle operational incidents, troubleshoot issues, and drive root cause analysis.
• Lead and manage the teams responsible for battery asset operations, tracker asset operations, vehicle IoT operations, firmware operations, and network operations.
• Oversee IoT battery asset onboarding, activation, monitoring, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate battery firmware updates and recovery actions for inactive units.
• Provide guidance, training, and operational support to team members.
• Manage tracker inventory, activation, onboarding, configuration, and deployment support.
• Ensure trackers are correctly mapped to assets/vehicles in the IoT platform.
• Monitor tracker health, connectivity status, and reporting behavior.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor firmware upgrades for IoT devices, batteries, and trackers.
• Maintain firmware version control and ensure all devices are updated as per the latest approved version.
• Coordinate with backend/engineering teams to resolve FOTA/firmware deployment issues.
• Track firmware to upgrade success rates, failures, and pending devices.
• Monitor IoT device connectivity, SIM/network performance, and communication reliability. Investigate issues related to data gaps, delayed reporting, and unstable network connectivity. Coordinate with telecom/network providers and internal technical teams for issue resolution.
• Support the rollout of new IoT initiatives, deployments, and operational improvements. Act as the key operational point of contact for IoT asset performance and issue resolution.
• Develop and improve SOPs for IoT operations, device onboarding, firmware updates, and issue resolution. Drive process improvements to reduce downtime, improve reporting accuracy, and increase operational efficiency.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Experience in handling battery IoT systems, trackers, telematics devices, or connected vehicle operations.
• IoT device lifecycle management

• Incident handling and troubleshooting
• Good knowledge of data validation, operational reporting, and issue tracking.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree Computer science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in IoT operations, telematics, firmware/device operations, or asset operations.
