Job Title: Data Quality Manager – Africa

Reporting To: Head of Data Management & Data Governance

Collaborates With: Enterprise QA, Manufacturing QA, Software QA, Digital QA (including IoT Telematics, Maps, and Financial Platforms)

Role Overview

Spiro is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Quality Manager – Africa to lead and manage end-to-end data quality processes across our platforms—ranging from enterprise and financial data to IoT Telematics and mapping ecosystems. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of data used across our digital, manufacturing, and financial domains.

You will work closely with QA teams from Enterprise, Manufacturing, Software, and Digital (IoT Telematics & Maps) to drive data quality strategies, implement best-in-class tools like Ataccama, and support regulatory compliance across multiple geographies and domains.

Key Responsibilities

Data Quality Governance

• Define and implement data quality rules, thresholds, and monitoring practices aligned with business and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with platform owners and consumers to establish and maintain a business glossary and data dictionary.
• Lead data profiling, anomaly detection, and exception handling activities across systems.

Tool Implementation & Rule Management

• Use Ataccama to develop and execute Data Quality (DQ) rules and workflows, including Plan Rule, Expression Rule, and Multi-Expression Rule types.
• Manage data loads and transformation components within Ataccama Model Explorer.

Cross-Functional Data Validation

• Partner with QA teams across IoT Telematics, Maps, Financial Systems, and Manufacturing to ensure unified and consistent data validation mechanisms.
• Support integration testing and data accuracy verification in collaboration with software development and testing teams.

Regulatory Alignment & Reporting

• Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory frameworks such as CECL, CCAR, FRB Schedules, and Basel Norms.
• Support regulatory and management reporting through high-quality, validated datasets.
• Provide regular insights, root cause analysis, and actionable recommendations via dashboards and presentations.

Continuous Improvement & Quality Culture

• Champion data quality awareness across technical and non-technical teams.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in data workflows and governance.
• Evaluate system enhancements, integration needs, and operational rhythms for prioritized use cases.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in data quality, governance, or data management.
• Strong expertise in Ataccama, including rule development, modeling, and workflow automation.
• Experience working in cross-domain data validation across enterprise systems, IoT/telematics platforms, financial data environments, or supply chain systems.
• Good understanding of regulatory requirements such as CECL, CCAR, Basel III, etc.
• Proven experience in managing QA alignment between software, manufacturing, and digital platforms.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of IBM Information Analyzer, Informatica, or similar tools.
• Experience with Power BI or equivalent BI tools for dashboarding and reporting.
• Background in electric vehicle, telematics, or digital mapping environments.
