About the Role

We are seeking a customer-oriented and experienced Sales & Field Operations Manager to join our new team in Dakar. In this role, you will be responsible for the country Field Sales, Sales Operations and Marketing. In addition, the position encompasses the capabilities development and training for the successful deployment of new business products and channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achievement of the company’s monthly/quarterly/annual sales plan. Define and monitor sales targets by zone.
  • Management of commercial key topics:
    • Identify commercial opportunities for Solar Panda range of products and suggest technical improvements to our products.
    • Monitor competition to ensure our retail prices are correctly set.
    • Develop and implement a local Marketing strategy/program to support sales.
    • Build the right channels to market.
  • Recruit, train, and support a team of Area Sales Managers and Field Sales Managers adequately structured to meet sales objectives. Coach and mentor all direct reports to maximize their effectiveness and ensure delivery of the agreed objectives.
  • Collaborate with Customer Care and Logistics teams, as necessary. Support on After Sales Service such that customer complaints and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the development of plans and initiatives to improve and grow the business.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of proven track record in sales within a dynamic and professional business environment.
  • A master’s degree in engineering or commercial or a related field.
  • Highly analytical with competence in Excel and other analytical tools.
  • Experience in successfully developing and implementing a sales pipeline process with demonstrable results.
  • Strong leadership skills, a can-do attitude, and a willingness to get fully involved at the heart of the business.
  • Passion for working in a social enterprise involving households in off‐grid rural areas.
  • Fluent in French and professional competency in English.
