Job Description
The Business Development Advisor is a senior-level role that plays a pivotal drive in advancing the market dynamics, private sector linkages, agribusiness, SMEs and other actors in RA-PURE demand and supply. He/she will work closely with business enterprises, investors, financiers, ecosystem players government institutions.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Conduct direct actors' outreach through organizations and networks, developing linkages and connections among relevant stakeholders, including SMEs, Ecosystem actors, investors, industry associations, and BDS providers.
Ensure that the stimulation and growth of demand for and supply of RA-PURE equipment and services through private sector business enterprises.
Lead market advisory offerings and BDS ecosystem advancement among actors in the RA-PURE businesses.
Expand advisory support to meet a wider variety of grantee needs, including increased inclusive business practices, gender equality, and marketing & distribution support.
Support the development and delivery of innovative products and services, business growth, and opportunities for small holder farmers and agribusiness organizations.
Ensure training and mentoring to local BDS providers to support the growth of stock of RA-PURE products and services.
Lead the investment readiness tracking tool in coordination with the Rwanda Agro-enterprises and entire ecosystem actors.
Play an active role in national, regional, and global dialogues about adoption of RA-PURE technologies to grow and scale systems transformation.
Build and support networks of local BDS providers, including training and mentoring on inclusive business, marketing & distribution support needs.
Work closely with business networks to identify RA-PURE service providers to support upskilling small holder farmers, Agribusinesses and ecosystem actors.
Coordinate support for development of BDS providers, focusing on the growth and sustainability of RA-PURE markets in Rwanda’s agriculture sector.
Identify potential businesses to grow and scale, technical skills and capacity through enhanced service provision and enhance overall system wide collaboration.
Collaborate with partners to develop a training and mentoring program for small holder farmers, cooperatives, agribusinesses, agro-dealers, processors and distributors.
Undertake Additional related tasks as from time to time directed by Line Manager
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a master's degree in business administration, Agribusiness, Economics, Agriculture economics, project management and the related.
At least 5 years of experience in project implementation, management, agribusiness in Rwanda.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to gain insights into situations, problems, and processes by systematically deconstructing issues and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the context.
Experience working with private sector and ecosystem actors catalysing inclusive agribusiness enterprise including youth, women and people with disabilities.
Demonstrated ability to work with teams by fostering cooperation to achieve objectives, set goals and priorities, assess required actions, make decisive decisions, analyse and solve problems systematically, and take proactive measures to meet or exceed objectives.
Setting high quality standards and striving for continuous improvement and quality assurance.
Interest in private sector development and in the fight against poverty and inequality
Initiative and creativity in solving problems
High degree of initiative, flexibility, reliability, discretion, and willingness to learn
Good oral and written communication skills in English
Solid computer skills in MS-applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet, intranet etc.)
Knowledge of SAP by Design and SharePoint is an added advantage
