Position: Area Sales Manager
Reports to: General Manager
Job Purpose:
The Area Sales Manager will be based in (Port Loko) and is responsible for managing all sales and customer service activities and provides ongoing support for distribution of Smiling Through Light’s products within the designated area. In addition, he/she will be responsible for recruiting, training and supporting a network of women sales agent in the defined chiefdom. The Area Sales Manager is key to ensuring that staff in the area meet and deliver sales targets, as well as drive Smiling Through Light’s mission and goals through excellent business development and customer service**.**
Key tasks:
• Manage and oversee all business development activities – sourcing customers, meeting with paramount chiefs, and relevant stakeholders to promote Smiling Through Light. • Act as point of contact for Smiling through Light in the area.
• Recruit new women sales agents to the network.
• Train new women sales agents in business skills, entrepreneurship skills, technical knowledge and leadership skills.
• Coach new and existing women sales agents by providing guidance and support to help them build and grow their businesses.
• Work alongside women sales agents to identity solutions to their business challenges. • Work alongside women sales agents to develop long-term, well-defined goals and realistic action plans to increase their sales to new and existing customers.
• Arrange and facilitate weekly meetings with women sales agents in their communities. • Create and manage a portfolio of customers through Solaris PayOps platform. • Business development, building relationships with clients in the area.
• Handle customer queries, complaints and providing a high standard of customer service. • Manage logistics for distribution of products for region, including ordering, safe keeping and sale of products.
• Process all sales transactions in accordance with Smiling Through Light processes and procedures.
• Maintain and update all required reports and data.
• Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
Experience/Qualifications:
• University degree in business-related field, preferably Sales or Marketing. • At least 5 years’ work experience in sales or customer service.
• At least 3 years’ management or supervisory experience.
• Competent in Microsoft Office and use of email and the Internet.
• Further Education training in Sales/Customer service an advantage.
• Experience of the Solar sector an advantage.
