A Snapshot of Your Day
Join Global Customer Operations (GCO) as a Project Engineer for the Rolls-Royce SMR programme—a key low-carbon nuclear energy initiative. You’ll be the main link between our UK customer and Germany-based engineering teams, ensuring smooth communication, alignment, and delivery of complex technical projects. You’ll support the Project Manager with governance, cross-functional coordination, and oversight of scope, schedule, risk, and quality, enabling informed programme decisions. The role involves regular travel to Germany, along with close collaboration across international teams to translate customer requirements into actionable engineering solutions.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Act as the primary interface between Rolls-Royce SMR and Siemens Energy.
- Drive project delivery and governance across multi-national teams.
- Ensure customer needs are understood and reflected in engineering outputs.
- Clarify technical issues, division of responsibility, and the related schedule with customers, consultants, and further internal and external partners.
- Coordinate inputs from cross-functional teams, maintaining quality and timelines.
- Monitor and report project progress, budgets, and risks.
- Promote a “one team” mindset and continuous improvement.
What You Bring
- Degree or equivalent in engineering, project management, or a relevant field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering fields related to Power Generation Projects.
- Ability to understand the engineering interfaces and the information needed to be exchanged between internal and/or external engineering disciplines, utilizing general knowledge about engineering but having good knowledge in at least one field of power plant engineering.
- Leadership capabilities to guide international, globally dispersed engineering teams covering various engineering fields to successfully execute projects.
- Preferably certified (APM, IPMA)..
- Experience leading projects to deliver customer-focused results.
