As an Electrical Engineer – Excitation Systems, you will be part of Siemens Energy’s Controls & Digitalization team in Latin America, supporting the Gas Services business through the design, implementation, and lifecycle support of excitation systems for synchronous machines. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate with customers, suppliers, project managers, and engineering teams to develop customized electrical solutions that meet technical, operational, and commercial requirements. Your day may include engineering design activities, proposal development, system configuration, troubleshooting, factory acceptance testing, commissioning support, and the preparation of technical documentation, all while ensuring the highest standards of quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Design and develop customized excitation system solutions for synchronous generators and motors based on customer and project requirements.
• Prepare and support technical and commercial project proposals, evaluating customer specifications, defining technical solutions, estimating engineering efforts, and contributing to competitive bid preparations.
• Coordinate engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment between technical scope, schedule, budget, and customer expectations.
• Configure, test, and support Siemens Energy excitation systems and related control platforms to ensure reliable system performance.
• Execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), support commissioning activities, and provide technical expertise during startup and operation.
• Investigate system issues, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions while driving continuous improvement, technical standardization, and customer-focused innovation.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Solid experience with AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) controls and excitation systems for synchronous machines.
• Proven experience in electrical system design, engineering, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving.
• Experience coordinating engineering projects and managing technical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
• Experience supporting project execution, including scope management, scheduling, stakeholder coordination, and risk mitigation.
• Experience preparing and reviewing technical proposals, tender responses, and project bids for industrial or power generation applications.
• Ability to develop and review electrical schematics, technical documentation, and engineering deliverables.
• Experience supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), commissioning, startup, and field service activities.
• Strong analytical skills with experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal (mandatory).
• Spanish language skills are considered a plus.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary and international teams.
• Experience interacting with customers, vendors, project management, and supply chain stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30% to 40% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
