Ready to help shape the future of gas turbine technology?

As a Thermal Systems Engineer, you'll use fluid dynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and simulation tools to improve the performance, reliability, and efficiency of advanced gas turbines. You'll work with a global team of engineers to solve complex technical challenges, support new product development, and enhance the performance of Siemens Energy's operating fleet.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Perform thermal-fluid, heat transfer, and CFD analysis for gas turbine systems.
• Develop models to predict cooling air flow, component temperatures, and turbine thermal behavior.
• Analyze turbine clearances and thermal growth to support design optimization.
• Use simulation results and operational data to improve product performance and reliability.
• Support new product development, technology upgrades, and fleet improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, service, and project teams around the world.

What You Bring

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 0-2 or more years’ fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, or thermal systems. Candidates with more years of experience may be considered at a higher level.
• Experience with engineering simulations, modeling, or CFD tools is a plus.
• Exposure to gas turbines, turbomachinery, rotating equipment, aerospace, or energy systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with programming tools such as Python, MATLAB, or similar is beneficial.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with existing visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

About the Team

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
