A Snapshot of the Day

In your role as Cyber Security Engineer for Grid Technology projects you will work within multiple project teams for different portfolio types as central entry point to manage, support and deliver the necessary results for onshore ancillary systems.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Provide technical support and cybersecurity consultancy to system engineering teams throughout project execution, ensuring full compliance with project-specific cybersecurity requirements.
  • Coordinate cybersecurity topics with engineering teams, suppliers, customers, commissioning teams, and project management.
  • Translate customer cybersecurity requirements into technical specifications, supplier requirements, and project deliverables.
  • Define and clarify communication concepts in collaboration with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and customers.
  • Prepare and maintain threat and risk assessments, for project systems, including identification of vulnerabilities, risk evaluation, mitigation measures, and residual risk documentation across the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and review configuration and hardening guidelines for servers, workstations, firewalls, switches, routers, IEDs, protection relays, gateways, and other OT devices.
  • Review supplier documentation and verify compliance with defined cybersecurity requirements.
  • Prepare test procedures and compliance evidence for intelligent electronic devices.
  • Support penetration testing activities and related follow-up actions.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Tests in cooperation with sub-suppliers and customers.
  • Provide technical support during the commissioning phase
  • Monitor cybersecurity risks, deviations, open points, deliverables, schedule, and budget within assigned project work packages.

What You Bring

  • University degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electronics or a related field.
  • Strong background in Industrial Cybersecurity within complex project and system environments.
  • Experience in project engineering and project management, including customer clarification and collaboration within complex, cross-functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of IT/OT systems and industrial automation environments.
  • Knowledge of IT/OT cybersecurity for industrial applications, including cybersecurity concepts, system hardening, and related documentation.
  • Knowledge in Open Systems Interconnection reference model.
  • Knowledge of redundancy concepts, mechanisms, and routing principles.
  • Experience with threat and risk analysis, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing activities.
  • Ability to manage subcontracted engineering work packages, including scope definition, milestones, deliverables, and follow-up of execution.
  • Strong skills in scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting.
  • Experience in budget planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Professional reporting as well as strong communication skills are expected
  • Capability of multitasking, with excellent organizational skills while assuring a high-quality work process
  • Intercultural sensitivity, to work in (virtual) international team
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, ability to analyse and learn as well as motivation, result orientation and enthusiasm to make a positive contribution to the team.
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Business-level fluency in English and willingness to travel internationally (<30%)
