A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

As a Senior Negotiation Lead in the Corporate Strategic Procurement Department at Siemens Energy, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing high-stakes negotiation strategies that drive value for the company. You will be the go-to expert for complex negotiations, providing both hands-on and strategic guidance to transform settings and outcomes. Each day, you will engage in impactful negotiations, optimize supplier agreements, and enhance procurement processes. Your expertise will directly influence our corporate procurement strategies, contributing to Siemens Energy’s mission of reimagining energy for a sustainable world.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

· Collaborate with our commodity managers to prepare, develop, and implement negotiation strategies that optimize supplier agreements, achieving significant impact through cost optimization and cost recovery.

  • Act as a lead-negotiator in challenging negotiations with key suppliers to achieve favourable terms and conditions.

· Establish a negotiation competence hub in collaboration with colleagues, serving the needs of a globally operating blue-chip company.

  • Validate and shape how negotiation targets and outcomes are defined.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align negotiation strategies with overall procurement objectives and advise Procurement executives.
  • Provide guidance and training to the procurement team on negotiation best practices.
  • Engage with our commodity managers to ensure that negotiation outcomes and lessons learned are feedback into respective corporate procurement strategies

· Champion digital innovation and strategic thinking to transform negotiation processes across the organization.

  • Continuously identify and embed opportunities for improvement across our end-to-end negotiation lifecycle process.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement to adopt a ‘negotiation mindset’.

What You Bring (requirements)

· A minimum of 10 years extensive hands-on experience in high-stakes negotiations as a senior negotiator in strategic procurement or sales, backed by a proven record of success.

· In-depth understanding of negotiation principles, practices, and procedures.

· Superior analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.

· Outstanding communication skills as well as experience in building strong internal networks and effectively advocating for ideas within the organization.

· Ability to coach and challenge colleagues across different levels of seniority

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field. Master’s or MBA is a plus.

· Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team and manage multiple priorities efficiently.

· Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
