A Snapshot of your day
Your day involves leading shift operations to ensure continuous, safe, and reliable power plant performance through real-time monitoring, startup and shutdown execution, and effective emergency response management. You will oversee and support shift teams in demanding operational environments, applying your technical expertise in thermal or gas turbine power plant operations to maintain operational continuity and achieve performance targets.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Monitor and control gas turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems from the Central Control Room (CCR) to ensure safe, stable, and efficient power generation.
- Execute plant startup, shutdown, and load adjustment activities while analyzing operational data to identify and resolve process abnormalities.
- Lead and supervise shift operations teams, manage shift handovers, and ensure adherence to operational schedules and procedures.
- Coordinate emergency response activities and work closely with maintenance teams to address plant upsets, equipment isolation, and corrective actions.
- Enforce HSE standards, including permit-to-work (PTW) compliance, safety inspections, hazard identification, and adherence to environmental and occupational safety regulations.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering, with a valid Power Plant Operator or Shift Engineer certification and HSE/First Aid/Firefighting training.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in power plant operations, preferably within gas turbine or combined cycle power plants, including control room or shift leadership responsibilities.
- Strong expertise in gas turbine operations, auxiliary systems, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Central Control Room (CCR) monitoring, and plant troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of safety and compliance practices, including Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), emergency response, and HSE regulations.
- Proven leadership, communication, and coordination skills, with experience managing shift teams, operational reporting, and collaborating with maintenance and cross-functional stakeholders.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
