Join our dynamic team as a Controls Hardware Designer, where you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing electrical control systems for industrial automation projects. You will create detailed electrical designs, control panel layouts, and wiring schematics, ensuring they meet customer requirements and industry standards. Collaborating closely with Controls Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders, you will deliver high-quality automation solutions efficiently and safely. Your expertise will not only enhance project delivery but also contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering standards.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will design electrical control systems tailored for industrial automation and process control applications.
  • Produce detailed electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD software.
  • Create comprehensive documentation, including control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Ensure compliance with IEC, BS EN, and relevant international standards, conducting design reviews and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Support project teams throughout the project lifecycle, providing technical guidance and resolving design issues effectively.

What You Bring

  • You hold an HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • With a minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical control panel design or controls hardware engineering, you have a solid understanding of industrial automation systems.
  • Proficient in producing electrical schematic drawings, you are familiar with PLC-based control systems, Motor Control Centres (MCCs), and Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).
  • You possess knowledge of electrical design standards and regulations, along with the ability to interpret customer specifications and technical documents.
  • Experience with EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical is a plus, as is familiarity with PLC platforms like Siemens TIA Portal and Allen-Bradley ControlLogix.
