Join Siemens Energy as a Supplier Quality Engineer in our Charlotte Power Transformers team, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring our suppliers meet the highest standards. You will engage with cross-functional commodity teams to conduct supplier, product, and process qualifications, perform audits, and develop both global and local suppliers in line with our supply strategy. By monitoring supplier performance and deliverables, you will enhance compliance with our quality program, boost operational efficiency, and support the delivery of reliable product quality. How You’ll Make an Impact
- Execute and coordinate Supplier Quality Management activities for materials and components used in power transformer manufacturing, including electrical steel, copper, and insulation materials.
- Lead collaborative Supplier Quality initiatives to support the Commodity strategy for both global and local suppliers.
- Implement and oversee the Supplier Process and Product Qualification (SPPQ) process.
- Conduct supplier audits in accordance with Integrated Management System standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Manage commodity-specific nonconformances, lead root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions while supporting risk analyses for product safety.
- Initiate and implement supplier quality improvement measures and develop risk-based quality plans.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews to identify opportunities for improvement and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Procurement on supplier-designed components and escalate unresolved quality risks as needed.
- Monitor SQM-related KPIs and propose enhancements to improve supplier performance.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, or manufacturing engineering, preferably within the energy or power transmission sectors. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice versa.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis and quality management methodologies, with ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
- Knowledge of materials used in power transformer manufacturing, such as electrical steel and insulation materials.
- Strong proficiency with standard business software and a keen interest in digitalization and data-driven quality tools.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English; additional language skills, such as Spanish, are a plus.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
